baked cheese dip

This is another Paula Deen recipe I got from the Food Network website. Let me tell you - this recipe is delicious! I also served this at our christmas party and everyone kept asking for the recipe so I thought I'd share it with yall too! And of course you know it's quick and easy or I wouldn't make it! ;)

  • 2 bags grated Colby cheese
  • 4 cups mayonnaise
  • diced onion (however much you'd like!)
  • dash worcestershire sauce
  • dash hot sauce
Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients in bowl and then transfer to baking dish. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until cheese is golden brown. Serve with pita crisps or melba toasts. Enjoy!

sweet chicken bacon wraps

I made these last year and again this year for our Christmas party. This is a Paula Deen recipe. I substituted turkey bacon for regular bacon and used tenderloins instead of breasts because they are easier to slice.
  • 1 package boneless, skinless, chicken tenderloins
  • 1 package sliced turkey bacon
  • 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
Preheat oven to 350. Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes. Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a wooden pick. Stir together brown sugar and chili powder. Dredge wrapped chicken in mixture (I use a spoon to sprinkle the mixture on the chicken - it is much easier to me this way!). Coat a rack and broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray (I just used a regular baking pan). Place chicken wraps on pan. Bake 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
YUMMO! These are easy and delicious. They were a hit at our party!

christmas party

Last night was our annual Christmas party! About 30 of our friends came over and helped us celebrate the holiday. It was so fun!

Our living room set-up before everyone arrived.

We had a variety of sweets, and I also made a delicious cheese dip (in a cute christmas tree pan!), sweet  chicken bacon wraps, potato salad and pigs in a blanket. Danny grilled out seasoned chicken and turkey sausage. It was a hit!

Danny and his friends cut down a couple of dead trees for wood for the fire.
Paula Deen sweet bacon chicken wraps! These are so easy and they are so good! I will post the recipe soon!

My best friends from college, Rhianna and Brannon, drove all the way from Alabama to come to the party! I love them so much!

We had the fire pit going in the backyard and the party lasted all night. We had so much fun!

Merry Christmas!

christmas home tour

Welcome!

This is the view of my living room from the front door.
Our tree! I used gold mesh and different sized and different colored ball ornaments. I think it's simple and pretty.

This is the mantle with the garland I made. I had these stockings made last year to match the zebra valances in our kitchen.

Cute, sparkly reindeer!
This is on our entry table in our foyer.
This table is behind our couch.
I made the centerpiece and bought the glittery snowflakes from Wal Mart!
I got this door hanger at Disney World this summer. I love the jingle of the bells when we open and close the door! Reminds me of my childhood.
This is our guest bathroom. I added a silver tree to match the gold one in my foyer.
This Noel sign is hanging from the cabinet.
My gingerbread house! Yummy! (Hoping it will last at least a week!)
Danny putting up our lights! We lined the entire front of our house with lights - we used the big lights and I think they look so retro. It only took him like an hour to do the whole house.

Merry Christmas and thanks for stopping by! :)
