randoms

We've had a nice relaxing weekend which is just what we both needed. Danny bought a truck on Saturday, so he spent most of the day doing that. We did a little shopping (love the tax free holiday) and then I spent the afternoon laying out by my parents pool.
Last night we went to Biaggi's for Jill's birthday.
Today we cleaned the house and washed the cars. We watched the movie Red Riding Hood last night - has anyone else seen it? It's with Amanda Seyfried (the girl from Mean Girls and Mama Mia). I thought it was well-intentioned but the ending made me mad.
So I started using Moroccan Oil about 2 months ago.  It has made my hair SO healthy and smooth.  For anyone that has dry, damaged hair (like I did) I would highly recommend trying this! It's a little pricey but so worth it.

I'm so excited about this - my mom, sister and I are taking a girls trip to Disney World in October! I can't wait.  I love Disney SO much.  I almost want to start a countdown on my blog! haha!

My logo for my photography was recently finished - Danny's friend, Virgilio, is a great graphic designer and did it for me.  I love how it turned out!

We are about to head to the grocery store for the first time in a week. I really want to start cooking at home again. I downloaded the AllRecipes app on my iPhone and it is awesome! It really helps me plan out our week. I need to get out of the habit of rotating the same 7 meals over and over again :)

Hope yall have a great Sunday!

days are flyin' by

I cannot believe it's already the middle of July. This summer has flown by and I really wish it would slow down (although fall is my favorite season and I'm super excited about fall clothes - boots, sweaters, cardigans, scarves...I could die).

I'm looking forward to a few weekends of no plans and just relaxing at home with my sweet hubs! I really want to go to a baseball game before the summer ends so we need to make that happen soon, but besides that I want to be totally chill. Sometimes jam-packed weekends make me so tired and I just need to take a second to relax :)
On another note, a few weeks ago I had a photo shoot with the King family and they were absolutely precious!
Check out my photography blog to see more photos from their shoot! Speaking of photography, I'm looking into a new lens for my Canon Rebel and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I'm seriously considering a Canon Macro EF 100mm lens...but they're super pricey. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Summer!!

summer days

Back to catching up on our summer!

After Danny’s mom left, we had our first weekend with no plans since the summer started (weekend of June 23rd). I decided to invite some of my friends over to my parents house to have a girls day at the pool on Saturday.
We were there all day – from 10am to 6pm! It was SO fun!
We listened to music, ate, drank and soaked up the sun!
I love girl time and we don’t do it nearly enough since we’re all married. Beth made delicious coconut rum fruit and Yvonne brought her yummy dip and “poinsettia” drinks! All the boys showed up later and we had fun playing in the pool. It was a nice summer day – just what I needed!
On Sunday (June 24th) my mom, dad, Danny and I all went to visit my aunt Donna in Prentiss (about an hour away). We hadn’t seen her in forever and my cousins, Mike and Kathy, were also there. It was so nice catching up. We need to make it a point to see each other more often.
We didn’t have any plans for July 4th weekend, so we were excited when Kevin and Beth decided to have a little party! On Friday night (July 3rd) Danny and I tried out Burgers and Blues for the first time.
They have the best outdoor patio with live music.
We went over to Kevin and Beth’s house on Saturday and shot off fireworks in a huge field by their house.
It was a nice, relaxing 4th of July.
Then on Sunday we went to Sarah and Derrick's house and they cooked a yummy meal for us. I also got to spend a little quality time with my favorite 11 month old!
This past week we were keeping my parents' dog, Bella, while they were in Las Vegas. I love that sweet little pup!
They got back on Saturday and Bella went home with them.  We spent the day running errands and shopping some of the Christmas in July sales. That afternoon we went over to Ruth's parents house and spent the entire evening there.
She and I have been best friends for 10 years!
She lives in New Orleans but was housesitting for her parents in Jackson. Her friend from Tulane, Jeff, came in town with her and we had a super fun dinner outside on their patio.
Danny had alot of fun playing with her dogs!
It was SO good seeing her again and we are definitely going to visit her in NOLA this fall!

little angel

I have at least 3 posts that I'm currently working on to catch up on our summer. But all I can think about today is the Casey Anthony trial.

I know there wasn't enough "concrete" physical evidence. I understand all of it was circumstantial. But I also believe that sometimes you just know what happened. And I believe in my heart that she killed her little girl. She ended the life of her little angel.

I got a text alert from the Orlando Sentinel that a verdict had been reached and I was able to watch it on my lunch break as they announced she was not guilty. I was absolutely SHOCKED. I thought to myself that she literally got away with murder. It's strange that I and so many others across the country felt so connected to this case, and that we felt such anger upon hearing there would not be justice for Caylee. I feel tremendous pain for George and Cindy Anthony. My heart aches for their family.

I know that Caylee is resting now with her Father, in His eternal kingdom that is FAR better than anything we could ever experience on earth. I know that Casey will face the ultimate judgement one day with our King. I also know that He is gracious and forgiving and we are so undeserving.

I'll pray tonight for Casey, that our Father touches her heart and that she asks for forgiveness. I'll pray for her parents, that they find peace through Him. And I'll pray for Caylee, giving thanks that she is dancing in Heaven with our Father and that He is holding her in the palm of His hand.

I know this sounds judgemental. I know she could really just be a pathological liar and not a murderer. I know I'm making insinuations. But I also know that 3 years ago the world lost a little angel.

We're praying for you, Caylee.

Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” -Matthew 19:13-14
