sweet october

I am so sorry it's been so long! The last 2 weeks have been super busy. I'm actually sitting in the airport right now waiting for my flight to Chicago so I finally have a minute to update (my flight is delayed and I will be sitting here for another hour - booo!).

Two weekends ago (Saturday, October 16) we had a BBQ party at our house and it was so fun! We had grilled chicken, turkey sausage, corn on the cob, dirty rice and sliced tomatoes. I even made cute halloween cookies for dessert (slice and bake - please don't get excited, ha!). About 15-20 of our friends were there and we love everyone who came so much! My sister was in town from LA and we had so much fun hanging out. I think the bonfire was still going until 3am! Here are some pictures from the party:

Our little backyard setup before everyone arrived.

 Yummy halloween cookies!

Everyone hanging out by the fire - our friend Yvonne brought graham crackers, chocolate and marshmellows to make smores!

Jack and Kevin making margaritas...they were DELICIOUS!

You may have noticed that our fire-pit is well under way and hubby is almost finished building it! After alot of hard work...

...it now looks like this!

We obviously still have to finish the other half, but I love how it is turning out! We bought the rest of the stone this past weekend and Danny's almost done. I love it and I am so proud of him for building this for us! I'm sure we will be using this all the time once the weather cools down a little bit.

We are super excited about Halloween this weekend even though I still have not gotten a costume! We are going to a friend's costume party and I will post pictures soon after. I hope everyone has a great week!

PRAISE HIS NAME!

As the miners are being rescued, nearly every one kneels in prayer, shouts out to God, or tells a reporter that Jesus got them through their ordeal and He is the reason they are alive. Mario Gomez was the oldest of the miners and was considered the spiritual leader of the group: "Gomez, a man who used to tell his wife to quit bugging him to say daily prayers, dropped to his knees to praise God. At that moment, she knew how lucky she was to have him returned to her. To say there were 33 trapped in the mine is wrong, he said. There were 33 men -- and God." - CNN.com

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. - Isaiah 40:31

10/12/08

Yesterday was our 2nd wedding anniversary; exactly two years since I married my best friend. I love my husband more and more with every passing day. I thank God everyday for blessing me so abundantly. Danny is my soul mate and I can't imagine my life without him. He makes me laugh and I honestly would rather spend all my time with him than anyone else. These last two years have been the best of my life and we've accomplished so much together. We bought our first house, got real jobs and became adults. I love you SO MUCH hubby and can't wait to spend every day of the rest of my life with you!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

the fair

Danny and I went to the annual state fair on Friday night with our friends Sarah & Derrick. We were there for 6 hours - from 6:30pm until after midnight! We had so much fun! We ate way too much, rode rides, drank a few beers and walked until our feet hurt. It was a blast! Here are some pics from our night...

October is my favorite month of the year, and the fair makes it even better! :)
