weekend update

This has been a lazy weekend for us. We leave for Jamaica soon, so I tried to spend yesterday and today cleaning the house, doing dishes, catching up on laundry, etc. I hate coming home from vacation to a messy house. We both have had sore throats/allergies the last few days, so we've dusted and vaccumed the whole house to make sure that it's not making us sick. We still need to clean the fans but I keep forgetting. We didn't realize (until one of Danny's friends told us) that you are supposed to change your A/C filter monthly...and we hadn't changed it once since we moved in 11 months ago! We just assumed you were supposed to replace it yearly -- well we definitely won't be making that mistake again!

The weather seems to finally be cooling down a little bit. Of course by "cooling down" I mean it's in the 80s and not near 100. It actually got down to around 65 degrees last night and it felt wonderful. I seriously cannot wait for Fall. I love pumpkins, mums, scented candles, sweaters, cardigans, boots, tights, fall decor and the list goes on and on. It really is my favorite season and October is my absolute favorite month of the entire year. It's been my favorite month for as long as I can remember. The weather is always perfect in October; not too cold, definitely not too hot. We also hit two milestones during the month of October - we were married (10/12/08) and bought our very first house (10/14/09).

Danny and I have been talking about building a fire pit in our backyard since before we moved into the house. My parents have a really nice one in their backyard that they built themselves, so I figure it can't be that hard. Hopefully it will become a reality this year because I would really love to turn our traditional summer bbq's into barbequeing by the camp-fire.

I'm watching "Swamp People" on tv right now and it keeps distracting me. I LOVE this show!

Happy Labor Day!

Another thing that helps with allergies is taking a teaspoon of LOCAL honey every day. It has to be local though. And of course, if you have babies around, never give a baby 1 year or younger honey. :)

Oh, and dark chocolate is suppose to work for coughing too. Doesn't hurt to try! :)
